Talk with a Friend or Family Member

The best ways to learn more about camp and get comfortable with the idea are to talk to our friends and family members who have been to camp before! Pathfinder is happy to help connect you with a family in your area who knows CPI!

It's Normal!

It is 100% normal to be nervous, anxious, and excited to go to camp all the same time! Don't be shy to share your feelings and talk openly about them with family, friends, and camp staff.

Feelings of homesickness happen to everyone and will usually fade after a few days on island. Plus, all of our staff have experienced homesickness at some point in their camp lives and are here to help!

Share Stories

Parents: sharing stories about your own experiences at sleep away camp can be a huge help! It's always nice to hear about fun times and get advice as you dream up your own adventures for the summer ahead.

Write It Down

Writing down your thoughts, feelings, or worries about camp can you better explore them. Share what you write with a trusted friend, family member, or the Camp Director.

Sending Letters to Your Camper

Everyone loves to get a letter from home!

Parents can send email notes to be printed and delivered to campers at supper time daily to {insert email} OR send letters the old fashioned way to:

Pathfinder is a tech-free camp. We live simply in our natural setting, away from fast paced, screen-heavy lives. Living tech-free opens campers to the world of Algonquin and to vibrant social interaction
