BEYOND SUMMER
Leadership, Gatherings & Family Adventures

Camp Pathfinder offers unique programs for leaders, schools, special events, and families seeking an unforgettable wilderness experience.

LEADERSHIP TRAINING & STAFF DEVELOPMENT

Pathfinder’s Leadership-in-Training (LIT) program is a seven-week immersion in outdoor leadership, mentorship, and skill development. Through hands-on experience, certifications, and three progressive canoe trips, LITs master paddling, portaging, risk management, and in-camp leadership, preparing them for future staff roles.

Pathfinder invests in staff development beyond the LIT program, offering certifications in first aid, lifeguarding, and outdoor leadership. Our biennial Spruce Root Chautauqua brings staff and alumni together for advanced training in trip leadership, counseling, and environmental stewardship.

SCHOOL GROUPS & SPECIAL EVENTS

Pathfinder is a unique destination, offering wilderness experiences that expand more than learning -- confidence, creativity, cooperation, and community. The Algonquin setting and expert staff combine to make a Pathfinder trip memorable.

School and organization private events are conducted in the spring and autumn. These off-season programs introduce young people to the Park and the Pathfinder experience: simple living in harmony with Algonquin, making a personal connection to the natural world, working and playing together in friendship and respect, all while having a blast!

Collaborating with group leaders, we custom design each 3 - 5 day experience. From our island base, students and faculty in guided groups paddle, trail-hike, mountain bike and challenge the ropes-course. Overnight back country canoe trips are an added option. Special events, fun camp traditions, and shared low-impact stewardship round out the island days.

FAMILY CAMP

Each summer Pathfinder welcomes in a small number of families, to experience the magic of Source Lake and Camp Pathfinder.

Warm days, cool evenings, morning mists, great swimming, stargazing, firesides, and delicious homemade Algonquin woods camp meals. No cooking or cleaning – just the wild beauty of Algonquin Park to share with your family.

The whole family is welcome, and there are daily activities for families, for the kids to join with campers, and for the adults to have some time to themselves.
