OUR TEAM
Camp Pathfinder’s staff are more than counselors—they are mentors, role models, and caretakers who live alongside campers, sharing every aspect of the Pathfinder experience. With a remarkable 1:2 staff-to-camper ratio, they provide individual attention, encouragement, and expert instruction in camp activities and wilderness canoe trips. Most have grown up at Pathfinder, coming through the ranks as campers and apprentices, carrying forward the traditions and values that define the camp—teamwork, service,
respect for nature, and personal growth.
Our senior staff, averaging over 15 years of Pathfinder experience, lead a dedicated team of counselors, ages 17-24, who hold certifications in lifesaving, wilderness first aid, and outdoor instruction. These young men and women embody the spirit of Pathfinder, blending challenge with encouragement, tradition with leadership, and skill with empathy. Whether guiding campers through their first paddle stroke or a multi-week canoe expedition, Pathfinder staff ensure every camper experiences the thrill of achievement, the bonds of fraternity, and the lifelong impact of a summer in Algonquin Park.

Will started as a camper at Pathfinder in 1987, served as a staff member, headman, and senior staff in the 1990's and 2000's. He worked in education leadership for 25 years all the while remaining active in the Pathfinder alumni community. In 2023, Most recently, Will was the Associate Head of School at Friends Seminary in NYC. Will and his wife Diane became owners of Pathfinder and Will stepped into the Director role.
Will and Diane met on Source Lake and were married at Pathfinder in 2010. They live in Maplewood, NJ during the off-season with their 3 daughters. During the summer, they also enjoy visiting Diane's family cottage on Source Lake

CITs / THIRDMEN
Our Counselor in Training/ Thirdmen group is made up of our 17 year old staff.
They have completed their Leaders in Training (L.I.T.) year at age 16, where they trip together under the guidance of the L.I.T. Directors on 12-17 day trips focused on improving their skills and preparing them for future staff roles.
This program includes staff training and certification courses, as well as hands on learning in camp and on trip throughout the summer.
